On Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, Consuelos lamented the Bucs‘ Sunday night (Jan. 12) loss to the Washington Commanders. Kelly Ripa, who said she talks to her father “every morning,” shared a snippet from their conversation this morning that dealt with Consuelos’ tough loss.

“This morning, the phone didn’t even ring. I guess he picked it up on the first [ring],” she recalled. “Before it actually rang, he picked up the phone and he was in mid-sentence. And the end of the sentence was, ‘Tell ‘em they stink.’”

Consuelos quipped, “I know who to go to for a little empathy, and it’s not Joe Ripa.”

However, Consuelos remained optimistic, congratulating the Commanders and noting that his favorite team gifted him “five weeks of playoff games.”

“And last night was my sixth,” he added. “And I’m happy.”

Ripa teased, “Yay, Mark!”

Consuelos continued to praise quarterback Baker Mayfield and thanked the Bucs for giving him “a great football season.”

“I’m proud of you guys,” he said.

The two co-hosts shared that not only have their dogs received “really cute, adorable dog shirts” from the team, but they have also scored some merch themselves. However, Ripa admitted that she has a “hard time wearing it” as an Eagles fan. After noting their impressive win against the Packers on Sunday night, Consuelos declared that he’s “voting for the Eagles” for the rest of the season.

Ripa quipped, “We’ll put the phone line up here that people can vote for the Eagles.”

Consuelos, who doubled down on being “behind the Eagles,” maintained his positive outlook as he later remembered that “if the Bucs had won, [they’d] be going down to Philly this weekend.”

“I guess it saved me a trip to Philly. And dealing with those nice fans in Philadelphia,” he joked.

Ripa, who hails from South Jersey, chimed in, “It always scares me to death when my husband goes to a Bucs game in Philadelphia. And I’ll have to say to my dad, who’s in his mid-eighties, ‘Please protect him.’”
