Will & Angie’s Relationship Is Built On Shared Trauma
They Grew Up In The Foster Care System Together
As mentioned above, Will and Angie were all each other had when they were younger, which is why their relationship is so strong in Will Trent. Unfortunately for them, though, the horrific circumstances Will and Angie were forced into are attached to their bond. Their shared trauma heavily contributed to their connection, and they can never distinguish the two.
Will and Angie’s rough Will Trent relationship was built on their shared trauma, to no fault of their own, of course. Without it, their bond would be quite different. Perhaps Will and Angie’s dynamic would be much lighter and healthier, but instead, it’s weighed down by their terrible history. When Will looks at Angie, he still sees the girl who was abused all those years ago. Meanwhile, when Angie looks at Will, she sees someone trying to save her. They can’t escape their past, which is a significant reason why Will and Angie shouldn’t reconcile their romance.
Will & Angie Know One Another (Including Each Other’s Faults) Too Well
They Know How To Hurt Each Other
It’s typically a wonderful thing to have someone who knows you better than anyone else. However, that is not the case for Will and Angie. The two Will Trent characters understand just about everything about the other person, including their good and bad traits. Will and Angie know how to make each other laugh, but they also know how to make one another cry.
So, while knowing someone through and through might look like a positive quality in a relationship on the surface, for Will and Angie, it’s the opposite.
