Will Trent

Despite everything, Will and Angie will get back together in Will Trent Season 3

Will and Angie’s relationship has been at the center of Will Trent since the very beginning, but now that they are broken up in season 3, there are many reasons why they shouldn’t be together. The ABC police procedural TV show, created by Liz Heldens, Daniel T. Thomsen, and Karin Slaughter, revolves around the titular character, an excellent GBI agent and a complex man with a tragic past. Will was abandoned when he was a baby and consequently grew up in foster care. While he struggled a lot during his adolescent years, Will always had Angie by his side.

Will and Angie leaned on one another for support while they were in the foster care system. Their dynamic later turned romantic, and they have had an on-and-off relationship ever since. They are now in their thirties and both working in law enforcement (well, Angie loses her job but will get it back in Will Trent season 3). So, Will and Angie have been through a lot together and understand one another on a level that probably no one else could. However, the two characters should keep their relationship platonic, especially after Will Trent season 2’s ending.

Will & Angie’s Relationship Is Built On Shared Trauma

They Grew Up In The Foster Care System Together

As mentioned above, Will and Angie were all each other had when they were younger, which is why their relationship is so strong in Will Trent. Unfortunately for them, though, the horrific circumstances Will and Angie were forced into are attached to their bond. Their shared trauma heavily contributed to their connection, and they can never distinguish the two.
