‘Will Trent’ Season 4 Confirmed: Marion Will Leave, Will and Angie Get Back Together
Per TVLine, co-showrunner Liz Heldens shared that Marion is not expected to appear for the remainder of Will Trent season 3. She explained that the season had the highest episode count of the show to date, and this meant the opportunity to flesh out stories, but also that not every character could have a complete arc. However, she also revealed that she would not rule out a return for Marion in season 4. Check out Heldens’ full comments below:
Marion is not going to resurface before season’s end. It’s funny… when we started [Season 3], we were like, ‘Oh, 18 episodes is the biggest order we’ve ever done!’ And then when we got to the end, we were like, ‘We don’t have enough runway for everybody.’ I think that Gina Rodriguez is wonderful. She pops off the screen. We love her. It was an amazing experience to work with her, and I wouldn’t rule out her coming back in Season 4 at all.
What This Means For Will Trent Season 3
It’s Tough To See Where Marion Fits In
While it’s too early to determine whether Marion is Will’s romantic endgame, the duo had a relationship that was fairly popular (if somewhat divisive) among viewers, and it was good to see Will happy for the first time in a while. However, since their breakup, Will is back to burying himself in work and closing himself off emotionally, which means it might be a while before he’s ready to be vulnerable with Marion again, if ever. While the character will not appear again in season 3, Heldens’ comments are certainly cause for optimism that she’ll be back in the future.
Our Take On Marion’s Will Trent Future
There’s A Strong Chance The Character Returns
Marion has been a great addition to Will’s personal life over the course of the season, as she has helped to bring him out of his shell. The character may not show up again in season 3, but with Will Trent season 4 on the way, there is a strong chance Marion could be back. Much will depend on Rodriguez’s availability, as well as developing the right story for the character, but the likelihood is high that she returns.
