Kelly Ripa Tells ‘Live’ How Her Daughter “Tried To Dress” Her For A Recent Photo Shoot: “She Had Me In A Half Top And A Mini Skirt”
Kelly Ripa got to dish on some picture-perfect mother-daughter time she spent with her daughter Lola while posing for People‘s World’s Most Beautiful 2025 issue.
Mark Consuelos bragged on behalf of his wife and daughter on Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday, giving viewers a sneak peek of flicks from their photo shoot.
Ripa teased, “Listen, I’m just on her coattails in this. But I will do anything to get a family photo. Literally anything.”
The co-hosts sang their daughter’s praises as an “exceptional” and “special” woman, who is “another level of funny.” Not only that, but they said she can “have a conversation with anyone, anywhere.”
“It was just so nice to get to spend the entire afternoon with her,” Ripa gushed.
Consuelos reminded Ripa of her and their daughter’s “mommy and me” photo shoots from back in the day, which Ripa said they were “reliving” in this recent photo shoot.
“She was a toddler, and we shot, I think it was for the American Heart Health Association. We did a red dress photo shoot,” she recalled. “She was like a young kid, and she didn’t have the vernacular to say she wanted to wear a short dress.”
Ripa explained that they received “long and flowy” dresses that “sort of matched.”
“And she refused to wear it. She kept saying, ‘I need an up dress. I want an up dress.’ Because she didn’t know how to say a short dress,” she continued.

Consuelos quipped, “Well some things never change.”
Ripa agreed, sharing some more details from their recent photo shoot.
“So she tried to dress me for this photo shoot, and when I tell you, I said to her, ‘Lola, I simply cannot. I must not wear this,’” she added.
Consuelos chimed in, “It wasn’t age-appropriate?’”
Ripa continued, “She’s like, ‘You look amazing.’ I go, ‘This is a young woman’s outfit.’ And by young, I mean in the Britney Spears “[Oops!…] I Did It Again” video. I mean, she had me in a half top and a mini skirt, and I go, ‘This is not Halloween.’”
Nonetheless, Consuelos lauded the “beautiful” pictures they took, saying he “can’t wait for the issue to come out,” leading Ripa to thank People for the opportunity.
“Let me tell you something. If it wasn’t for People magazine, I would have no family photos,” she said. “I’m not kidding.”
