Kelly Ripa Tells Mark Consuelos To Be More Like Her Former ‘Live’ Co-Host Ryan Seacrest: “Maybe You Need To Go Full Seacrest”
Kelly Ripa has never shied away from exposing Mark Consuelos‘ snoring on Live with Kelly and Mark, and Wednesday’s episode was no exception. This time, though, she had a tip for her husband/co-host.
Ripa claimed that she “found a cure” for her Consuelos, as she revealed that he was “on a snoring tear” the night before.
Consuelos confessed, “I wanted to ask you about that, because my reading said I snored for one hour and two minutes.”
Despite the admission, Ripa argued “that’s a low estimate,” shocking Consuelos.
“Really? I was snoring?” he replied. “I had my tape on my mouth, I had my nose —”
Ripa added, “No, you broke through. You broke through the tape.”
She asked Consuelos if he recalled her “banging the bed” to wake him up, which he eventually remembered.
“When we were first together, it was kind of like this,” he explained as he gently caressed Ripa’s shoulder. He acted out the gradual transition to poking and then banging on the bed.
Ripa confirmed, “I slam the bed down. It startles him awake.”
After Ripa teased that Consuelos will sometimes mumble in response, Consuelos said he “was going to blame it on Chewie,” their dog, though Ripa insisted it was “all [him].”
“But eating earlier can help prevent snoring,” she shared.
While Consuelos said that he ate “earlier” at 6:30, Ripa quipped, “Maybe you need to go full [Ryan] Seacrest and start eating at 4 p.m.”
“Because you could be developing acid reflux,” she continued.
Consuelos alleged he doesn’t suffer from “any stomach issues,” but Ripa told him, “I think sometimes you do.”
“There’s added pressure on your diaphragm and your chest,” she added. “Maybe you need to sit up a little bit when you sleep?”
Then Consuelos proposed that Ripa should “massage [his] diaphragm and [his] chest,” to which she joked that he could “hire a masseuse” to do that.
After Ripa read aloud that “fatty foods also take longer to digest,” she noted that Consuelos “like[s] a meat” and “like[s] fats” and should “back up [his] chow time.”
“I’ll consider it,” Consuelos said while shaking his head no.
