Captain Glenn Shephard threatens to fire the entire Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 crew for this serious rule violation
In a brand-new Below Deck Sailing Yacht mid-season trailer, Captain Glenn Shephard is seen threatening major consequences for the crew of Parsifal III.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is in full swing, with eight episodes having aired so far on Bravo. Already, there’s been plenty of drama and scandals, from Chef Cloyce Martin’s missteps with the guests, to Gary King causing damage to a tender and Emma Crouch being fired. Along the way, various cast members have been accused of being producer plants, and the producers themselves have come under fire for allegedly interfering in the storylines.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht‘s Captain Glenn Shephard scolds his crew for breaking the rules and threatens to implement a harsh consequence.
At one point in the trailer, Glenn says, “I don’t want to take you guys’ tip, but you knew the rules. You broke the f***ing rules, and now you’re getting upset.” While the captain makes this threat to his crew, the camera shows some of the cast members, including Gary and Daisy, in one of the guest bedrooms looking somber as Glenn scolds them. Elsewhere in the video, Daisy predicts the crew will be burned “at the f***ing stake.” She and Glenn also discuss their “complicated relationship,” amid shots of cast members crying and having disagreements.
What Below Deck Stars Breaking The Rules Means For Rest Of Season
The Crew Needs To Prove Their Worth To Captain Glenn
It’s not uncommon for various Below Deck franchise cast members to be lectured on how to do their jobs. Sailing Yacht, including the current crew, is no exception. Emma couldn’t grasp the basic duties of her job as a deckhand, so she was fired. Now that she’s no longer on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, it’s up to the remaining crew members to step up and prove their worth on board the yacht.
During the part of the trailer in which Captain Glenn scolds his crew, there’s a shot of some of them looking defeated, including Daisy and Gary. Since trailers can sometimes be misleading, it’s unclear if that particular scene happened at the same time as Glenn’s threat to withhold tips. It’s possible that the cast members in trouble weren’t even in that shot.
Our Take On Captain Glenn Threatening To Withhold Tips
Captain Glenn’s Threat Might Be Justified
Captain Glenn threatening to withhold the crew’s tip sounds really harsh. However, it might be totally justified. Since the trailer doesn’t actually reveal why the captain reached his breaking point, fans will just have to tune in to find out. Most of the time, the meeting about the tip concludes without any problems. However, there have been times when some cast members don’t want others to receive their tip because they didn’t properly execute the duties of their job. The anticipation is building to find out why Captain Glenn doesn’t want to hand out a tip during that particular charter.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
