Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, the married co-hosts of LIVE With Kelly and Mark, are known for their candid discussions about sex and parenting. But Kelly, 54, and Mark, 53, certainly surprised Keira Knightley on Tuesday, December 16 when they alluded to their baby-making process.
As they spoke to Knightley, 39, about her trip to New York, which she was undertaking without her kids, the Pirates of the Caribbean star waxed poetic about the pleasures of being alone with her husband without having to take care of little ones. (Knightley has two daughters, Edie, 9, and Delilah, 5, with husband James Righton.) “You know that sudden thing where you’re like, whoa?? I was on the plane, I read my book, I can sit down… this is amazing! Yeah, so, no, they’re not here.”
Ripa chimed in with a warning. “Careful dear, that’s how we got pregnant with No. 3. We went away.”
Knightley was quick to opt out of that idea, widening her eyes in horror. “Oh no,” she said, making a “stop” sign with her hands. “No, he’s not coming anywhere near me,” laughed the Atonement actress.
In the past, the couple has measured Mark’s tongue, told tales of a father-son trip to Hooters, and revealed a “passionate” kiss Mark shared with a soccer fan. They also have told the story of the aforementioned trip, during which they apparently conceived their youngest son, Joaquin. According to the hosts, Mark’s parents offered to watch their children, Michael and Lola, so they could take a trip together on their anniversary. “We thought, we’ll go away for two days. What could possibly happen?” joked Ripa on the September 13 episode of the talk show. They explained that thanks to that trip, Joaquin’s nickname is “Made In Montreal.”
The dynamic duo have been happily married since 1996.
