Mark Consuelos was ‘accused of flirting with men’
After debuting another campaign on air amid his bid for the PEOPLE title on Tuesday morning, the 53-year-old Live With Kelly and Mark cohost segued into a discussion about the woes beautiful people face in the workplace.
Consuelos initially cited online commenters observing that good-looking people face disadvantages in select situations, including how “being beautiful” can impact “their reputation,” he said with a laugh.
He then read an online comment that stated, “I’ve been accused of flirting with men when I’m literally just doing my job.” Consuelos lifted his head to look directly into the camera and quipped, “Same!”
The Live audience laughed as Consuelos asked his wife and fellow host Kelly Ripa how she felt about the topic.
“I feel so bad for the pretty people, these are all things I never considered. I never considered what they go through,” she said.
Ripa then brought up the couple’s assistants, who stood just off camera as she and Consuelos highlighted their stunning looks, while she also noted that they’re “extraordinarily good at their jobs” in addition to being “insanely good-looking people.”
Consuelos admitted that, “when Grant came into our home to interview, we just sat. I didn’t even hear a word he said” because he was so enamored by his features.
The moment came amid Live‘s enduring status as the horniest show on morning TV, which in the recent past has included on-air foot massages aimed at “WikiFeet weirdos,” discussions about “buckles and snaps” in the crotch area, and Ripa’s recollection of a backstage moment where she rubbed her husband’s thighs in the workplace.
