When does Fire Country return in 2025? Details explored

After Fire Country Season 3, Episode 8 “Promise Me,” left Bode, Audrey, Gabriela and Manny in danger, Fire Country is set to return with new episodes at the end of January, with Season 3, Episode 9 airing on Friday, January 31, 2025. That’s a long time to wonder if Bode, Audrey, Gabriela, and Manny will survive when the show returns. And the worst part is that every one of the characters made it there because of their own bad decisions.

Starting with Bode (Max Thieriot) and Audrey (Leven Rambin), who end the season trying to ride out a fire in a pool just because they didn’t heed the evacuation order from Sharon (Diane Farr) in time. Or, Bode decided he wasn’t going to because he made a promise he shouldn’t have to the owner of the house they were trying to save. Audrey just stuck by him. Of course, she’s now the one that can’t actually swim so she is in worse danger in that pool than Bode. Especially because everyone thinks they made it out, which means no help is coming.

Then there’s Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila), who got into a fight with Jake (Jordan Calloway) and walked out of her job in the middle of a fire, seemingly without even paying attention to where she was walking to as she ended up at the worst point for the forest fire. Later, Manny (Kevin Alejandro) hears that his daughter Gabriela is in danger, and he decides he has to go look for him, even though the best-case scenario for him is that he finds her but gets punished for walking out. He is, after all, still a prisoner. At least Sharon and Jake are aware Gabriela is in danger, even if they don’t know about Manny so she will likely get rescued first.

Maybe Fire Country only wants us to worry and doesn’t actually intend to start the back half of Season 3 with a death. If it does, though, smart money probably isn’t on one of the three series regulars but on the one character involved who isn’t a regular. However, with Gabriela spiraling and her relationship with Bode at what seems like a point of no return, Audrey feels like a character with a lot of room to grow. Both in her relationship with Bode and on her own. That doesn’t mean the show won’t end up pulling the plug anyway, but it does mean she has a better chance at staying than not.

And if you know all of this, that means you just worry for everyone equally. That’s why the hiatus is going to feel so long.
