Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ talk show has gone through a change of scenery. Live With Kelly and Mark officially moved out of its old studio in April 2025. Closer shares everything to know about the show’s new space.
Why Did Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Move Out of the Old ‘Live’ Studio?
The Upper West Side studio that Kelly and Mark previously filmed episodes of Live at was sold, Kelly revealed during an October 2024 episode of the show.
“Allegedly we’re moving downtown to this fancy shmancy state-of-the-art studio,” the All My Children alum told viewers at the time.
She said that the team behind the scenes of the show was already preparing for the move, making backstage look like a “one show Walmart.”
“If you work here, you will know backstage there is such seasonal confusion … There are wreaths, there are Christmas trees, I saw a turkey, there’s an American flag, a bunch of pumpkins,” Kelly joked. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear we were closing this studio down soon.”
Live had been filmed at that studio for 37 years before making the big location change. They marked their final episode of the show in the old studio on April 1, 2025.
Where Is Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ New Studio Located?
The new Live studio is located at the new Walt Disney Headquarters downtown at 7 Hudson Square.
“Noteworthy building amenities include a full-service café and coffee bar, outdoor terraces, wellness rooms, a large event space for employee gatherings, conference centers, a large screening room, a reading room, a bike room with shower facilities, a company store, TV studios, and much more,” the Walt Disney Company’s website said.
“The all-electric building features on-site solar panels, high efficiency dedicated outside air systems, high-performance facades, waste heat recovery, and electric heat pumps. The energy-efficient design approach is reflective of Disney’s 2030 environmental goals,” the website continued.
When Will Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Film in Their New Studio?
During an episode of Live on April 7, 2025, Kelly and Mark appeared in a temporary filming location inside of the new building before they could move into the new studio.
“For decades, we’ve been broadcasting from the Upper West Side at 7 Lincoln Square,” Mark said during the episode. “And today we are coming to you from our new home downtown! This is the great room within the Walt Disney company’s headquarters. I would say it’s state-of-the-art.”
“There is 1.2 million square feet, 22 stories. I don’t even know what story we’re on,” Kelly said, with Mark adding that the new building “holds approximately 5,000 employees.”
Kelly and Mark revealed they would be filming in the temporary space for a week and that their first episode in the new studio would be on April 14, 2025. Some fans online were not loving the “echo” that could be heard during episodes filmed in the temporary space.
“The new studio is nice but the acoustics are horrendous!” one person commented on Live’s Instagram page.
“Love the new studio but can you fix the echo /sound,” another person commented.
“New studio lovely. Not so much the sound system. Echoing,” a third person said.
